Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using LeagueKeepers (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on your behalf. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet these age requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering and to keep your account information up to date.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or remain inactive for extended periods.

4. Platform Use and Conduct

LeagueKeepers provides tools for organizing and managing recreational sports leagues. When using the Platform, you agree to:

• Use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Provide accurate league information, schedules, scores, and player communications.
• Treat other users with respect. Harassment, hate speech, threats, or abusive behavior will result in account suspension or termination.
• Not use the Platform to promote illegal gambling, discriminatory practices, or any activities that endanger participant safety.
• Not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to other accounts, servers, or Platform infrastructure.
• Not scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Platform without written permission.

5. League Organizer Responsibilities

If you create or manage a league on LeagueKeepers, you additionally agree to:

• Operate your league in compliance with all applicable laws, including local sports regulations, insurance requirements, and venue agreements.
• Ensure that participant fees, if any, are clearly communicated and that refund policies are established and honored.
• Maintain accurate rosters, schedules, and standings.
• Handle participant disputes fairly and in good faith.
• Comply with child safety regulations when organizing youth leagues, including obtaining necessary parental consents.

6. Payments and Fees

• Payments, payouts, and refunds are processed through integrated third-party providers (Stripe and Plaid). LeagueKeepers is not a bank, payment processor, or money transmitter.
• LeagueKeepers may charge platform fees or subscription fees for certain features. Applicable fees will be disclosed before purchase.
• You agree to pay all fees associated with your use of the Platform when due.
• Refund eligibility is determined by the refund policy of the league organizer and the applicable payment provider's terms. LeagueKeepers does not guarantee refunds for third-party transactions.
• You are responsible for any taxes associated with payments received through the Platform.

7. Intellectual Property

• The LeagueKeepers name, logo, and all Platform software, designs, and content are the property of LeagueKeepers and are protected by intellectual property laws.
• You retain ownership of the content you create on the Platform (league data, team names, logos you upload). By posting content, you grant LeagueKeepers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Platform.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Platform content without our written permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.

LeagueKeepers is a management tool—not an insurer, event organizer, or guarantor of participant safety. We are not responsible for injuries, disputes, property damage, or other incidents that occur during league activities. League organizers and participants assume all risks associated with their sports activities.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LeagueKeepers and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to LeagueKeepers in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LeagueKeepers and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason with reasonable notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will remain in effect.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the state where LeagueKeepers is headquartered. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which LeagueKeepers is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
